How to lock your bike without a bike rack (or a lock)

Lock your bike to something tall and/or incredibly hard to move, like a tree, road sign, light pole, or a fence. If there is absolutely nothing around to lock it to, at least immobilize your wheels. If you don’t have a lock at all, make your bike as difficult to roll away as possible. Most bike thieves look for convenient ones to steal. Also, make sure to grab any accessories that are easy to remove.

Should you ride your bike with or against traffic? (w/ laws map)

In every state in the U.S., it is illegal to ride your bike against oncoming traffic. Most states require that you either stay as far right as possible or that you at least follow all local traffic laws like a car or motorcycle would. People have plenty of arguments about which side of the road is safer. So, I’ll explain why it is better to stay right, and I made a map to summarize the rules in each state.
